In addition, the skin is rehydrated and the facial contour is reshaped.

All STYLAGE® products contain an antioxidant*, Mannitol, which protects the hyaluronic acid gel from the attack of free radicals (oxidative stress) generated during injections. It thus helps delay its degradation.

HYALURONIC ACID, A “HYDRATION MOLECULE” 

-All VIVACY products are based on hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the human body, particularly in the skin and mucous membranes. It can retain up to 1,000 times its weight in water, thus contributing to the hydration and toning of the affected tissues.

-Hyaluronic acid has a short lifespan and is water-soluble, which means it must be stabilized before being injected into skin tissue. To achieve this, a special technical process called “cross-linking” is used to link the hyaluronic acid molecules together to obtain a cohesive hyaluronic acid gel for a smoothing, lifting and/or volumizing effect on the skin, which will last for several months. The duration of treatment depends on many factors, such as the patient’s skin type and structure, age, lifestyle, the area being treated and the injection technique used by the practitioner.

-From a clinical perspective, the main product characteristics sought by physicians are their ability to lift skin tissue, provide mechanical support, and spread easily. To achieve these desired effects, the hyaluronic acid gel must have a unique combination of elasticity and viscosity. These specific viscoelastic properties determine where the gel will be injected, allowing it to respond to the various mechanical stresses it will be subjected to in the tissues.

As a result, the interpenetration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid networks:

-Optimizes the rheology of the products, in particular the viscosity, in order to guarantee good injectability of the product.

-Preserves partial independence of interpenetrating HA networks, while increasing chemical node density.

-Guarantees the cohesion of the HA gel and its monophasic properties.

MANNITOL AND SORBITOL, ANTIOXIDANT AGENTS

• During an intradermal injection, the invasive movement of the needle through the skin layers triggers an inflammatory response and the production of free radicals. These free radicals are harmful to hyaluronic acid molecules because they accelerate their degradation, leading to faster degradation of the injected filler and a reduced duration of the corrective effect. To protect the hyaluronic acid gel formulation during injection, VIVACY has incorporated antioxidants into its fillers: mannitol or sorbitol. These antioxidant agents act as active scavengers against the most aggressive hydroxyl radicals generated during the injection process. As a result, they work to minimize the rapid degradation of the injected hyaluronic acid gel.
